Greetings,I am a chef/patisserier,on offer ,yes even to Europe and the UK is a box of petit fours (really good chocolate)

I have hit the search key,twice and seached these very pages, but I want more detail.

I have bought an entire 1994 YZF750 front end. I want the details on the conversion,I am not a mechanic,pictures would be nice too.

first question, what do you mean by "pressing the trx stem into the yzf bottom yolk-is that the shaft from inside the trx head stem going into the yzf lower triple clamp? then what? does it hold itself in,are there any washers?

The front end is currently in transit,so if possible if some bright andkind person could give me the A-Z conversion,then they will get to stuff themselves with fine 85%Halibutt chocolate.

The stem is the bit that goes inside the frame, yes. You need a hyraulic press to press the stems out, and you need to apply heat to the yoke (not yolk ) and it's also good practice to cool the stem before you press it back in.

Hi, I've done this modification and although it seems complicated, its actually really easy and straightforward to do.

First you need to find a way of holding the bike with the front end off the ground so that you can remove the wheel, forks, fairing etc. (I used a pair of step ladders and some 4x6" wood to make a frame, then strung the front of the bike up with some rope)

Once youv'e stripped the front end and you're left with just the yokes on the bike, you remove the top nut and lift off the top yoke. Make a note of the sequence of nuts/washers that fit below this. Next remove these items (two nuts, one locking tab, one rubber washer, top bearing inner). Then you can drop the bottom yoke, complete with the steel tube steering stem.

The steel steering stem then needs to be removed from the TRX bottom yoke. You can either press this out with a hydraulic press (not everyone has one - but the local yamaha dealer did mine for £5). Alternatively you can get it out by splittinh the TRX bottom yoke with a hacksaw, being really carefull not to cut into the steel steering stem.

Next you need to press out the steering stem from the YZF750 bottom yoke (no way of doing this except with a hydraulic press as you need to re-use the yoke)

Finally you press the steel TRX850 stem into the YZF750 yoke and hey presto it all fits perfectly into the TRX frame.
