Folks I'm onto the very very last job on my 4 year project bike, which is to fit the fuel pump.

My problem is that there is no-where good to fit the original vacuum pump so I want to replace it with an electric pump.

I've looked at the facet range and its mindboggling in terms of choice.

I've also read various worry beads about electric fuel pumps pushing out too much pressure for the carbs (FCR39) to deal with and you either need a special low pressure pump (but which one?) or a fuel pressure regulator.

None of this stuff is cheap so I'd appreciate some advice from anyone who knows about this stuff

PLEASE - I'M DYING TO FINISH THE BIKE

Use an early R1 fuel pump, they were fitted with carbs and it`s designed to pump at low pressure.
You want a 98 > 01 4XV type, alternatively ANY small 12 volt inline fuel pump (low pressure) will do, like this one for instance:

Ebay is bound to have plenty of variants too, just search under inline 12v fuel pumps.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if the over-pressure issue was just a problem with the FCRs and that the elec pump used on earl carbed yams would be a problem.
