Oil level. one for mincehead.
Just out of interest has anyone ever thought of finding correct level, then putting bike on side stand and making up a dip stick attached to filler cap ( like lawn mower) surely this would be better than trying to hold bike level on your own. After ten minute warm up just put bike on side stand and just dip. Please let me know your thoughts as I am thinking of doing it as my eyes are not so good and I have trouble with the sight glass. Regards. Killer.

Funny you say this I have been thinking the same of late and I will be making up a dipstick very soon.
My bike maybe a dinosaur but it still has some bite & has a mighty roar.

Kenny, If you get one made before me please post some snaps. I have just been out in the shed and I have a dip stick from an old mower and apart from getting the length and markings right it should just be a matter of a slot cut into cap and stick secured. Killer.

had a bit of a play and found an old oil cap, heated the proposed dip stick red hot and pushed into cap about half inch and hit it with cold water and it is in there for evermore. Checked oil cap fitted to bike and there is heaps of meat to play with. Killer.
