Ok I have finaly got round to fitting these and it has no choke. I tried to start it without throttle but it wont go. I gave 2 blips of throttle then tried to start it it was then flooded. How do you start yours from cold please?

this is probably a waste of time but you could try restricting airflow manually...some sort of intake semi-cover??

It shouldn`t flood the motor on two throttle openings, mine starts on usually three pumps from cold. Sometimes coughs a tad but never floods.
Oh and if she does flood / wet the plugs a tad, keep the throttle wide open and crank the motor. The accelerator pumps only work as the throttle is opened, (to richen the mixture) holding the twistgrip open increases the air ratio.
Mine started in all the snow we had through the winter, needed five good squirts and a tad more cranking but she fired up fine and she lives outside under a waterproof cover.
It was at least -8 when I tried her.
You can open the throttle as you press the starter button, use your left hand / thumb. a little manipulation of the throttle is sometimes required then you can wind the idle up a tad too to help her warm up. Although, I tend to ride off immediately, the motor warms quicker that way.
NEVER keep whacking the throttle open at start up, flooding will definately take place.

Yup, three good twists if it's been left for a week. Once it fires a little bit of feathering until it's ready to idle. Never had mine flood yet. Occasionally it'll backfire on startup.

Thanx guyz, what setup you running Ive got both socks and airbox and could do with setup advice for both please?

I know with mine with the bellmouths n sock n largebore system std motor it still runs std main jets Dropping the neddle 1 being alterations with jetting but dyno sorted that out

Yep -8, although there were nights when the mercury dropped to -13 even around the city of Edinburgh.
You couldn`t go out on a bike, there was a foot of laying snow at times too. It`s been a bl**dy long, hard winter!

I know what you mean, i once had to ride home when it was only 18 degrees brrrrrrr.
Running ramair socks on blue bellmouths and 158 jets. Over full system and stock engine.

Finally about to order a set of new ones tomorrow, if they're in stock.

Hi Kenny,

My bike used to start with a couple of twists on the throttle and then just keep the bike happy until it'd idle ok. I found my bike ran best with the modified airbox fitted

Yes Kev, ordered them last Wed. Should be here by the end of next week or early the week after.
Ordered them thru Show 'n'Go Adelaide. (carbs, intakes, bellmouths, airbox adaptors and cables)
Doesn't matter if the bellmouths are blue ços I've still got the red ones from the FCRs I had on the Guzzi

Sweet I forget, do the red velocity stacks give more midrange or topend. I've got the blues fitted to mine.
