Battery relocation...

Any ideas on where the battery could be relocated to?
My thoughts are:
1. Into the standard tail unit, in the 'boot'.
2. Into a smaller tail unit. I think Honk did this into the R6 tail unit with a smaller (scooter?) battery.
3. Under the tank in place of the airbox. This is my favourite but would it work? Would the heat affect it?
4. Leave it in the garage and connect it to the bike with a REALLY long cable?
Any thoughts....?

You want a LiFePO battery, here`s a couple of makers

NWS (Chris) can give you the details I`m sure, he`s going down that route.

So small you can site them wherever you like, dry too so any orientation is ok, even upside down!

Lithium ferrous nano phosphate race battery is your answer - you'll save almost 4KG's by fitting one too. More starting current (cold crank amps are much higher) with less degradation of charge (less than 10% over 12 months) as long as you don't have constant drain sources like alarms, park lights left on, etc. VERY small (about the size of a man better looking/dressed than me packet) so can be located pretty much where you want which includes under the tank if you are losing the airbox. Responds very nicely to being connected to an optimiser too as they don't like being run down to fully flat but unlike a gel battery are fully rebuildable
Can also be fitted in any orientation (upright, on-side, upside down)
Wouldn't recommend putting your standard battery under the pillion hump - it's mounted above the engine for good reason, to aid weight distribution (c.o.g.) You'll notice it if you move it that far back
