No lights / horn etc..

Following me putting the bike back together, nothing from the left hand side switchgear works (apart from the indicators).

So I have no lights (main, side, dip, flasher) or horn.

The wires from here go to two connectors under the tank, one a 2-pin and one a 6 pin and these are connected right.

Any clues?

Ideas?

Should something be earthed somewhere that maybe isnt that I can check?

I have one 'spare' unconnected black single bullet connector under the tank which I dont know where it goes .......... ?? (Its not the one for the temp sender)

the 2 pin plug is the clutch lever switch. The bigger one does the rest of the stuff.

You need to check if power is coming from the harness on the brown wire(horn) and on the red /yellow (lights). If they're not powered, the problem's not in the switchgear.

Edit- And check the fuses, please You have a fuse for the brown wire (horn) and another for the red/yellow (lights)

Black wires are generally earths Dave, it`s gotta go somewhere I guess, are you sure none of the bullet connectors are doubles?
As Hugo so rightly says suspect a power / feed problem first as nothing works from that left hand switchgear.
So fuses first, multimeter on the connector blocks if the fuses are ok, check for ignition live feed.

Well, I've checked the fuses and the connections and the condition of the wires and all is ok.

But this little devil was bugging me, just hanging around being as useful as a nun's chuff...



I've got a complete spare loom, so found the wire on there and discovered it was connected to this...



So I connected it to the one on my bike, jammed the other end behind a bolt on the fairing bracket and hey presto! Everything works!!

Just need to find somewhere to connect it permanantly and the jobs a good 'un. Looks like it probably connects to the x head screw that holds the coil to the frame.

Mow we are ready for an MOT
