Hi All

Anyone advise on the best way to polish my header pipes and bring them back to a nice stainless shine.

Thanks

Mick

get the pipes off completely and put them in a workmate.... plenty of autosol and elbow grease...

ohh and if you have a dremel makes it a lot easier as i have recently found out... only just bought mine a month ago... but previously used good old elbow grease... hard work, but once you have them clean just a quick wipe over with autosol...

use felt bobs in the dremel..

also you could have a look at yell.com and try and find some contract polishers Stainless....

If they`re really bad use emery flap wheels of varying grades until you get them bright then either polishers compound on a mop or Solvol as Al says.

I did my fz headers a couple of months back and all I did was coat them with brasso using a gentle dishwashing pad, let it sit for a few hours and polish off. Took a few repeats over a couple of days but very little elbow grease. The result wasnt 100% but damn close to it.
I took a pic after the first day - http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/ ... 32ydif.jpg

Hope this helps.

Hey Al, Have you got OCD as well? (or do you just like to keep your bike real neat?)
