Hi I have just changed my fork seals (I used a cricket stump for the inside bit, I would never have thought of that for getting the stantion out, Cheers previous posters!....Perfect!!!) and am setting up my forks again after reading some of the previous posts, my question is how far to push the forks through the top yoke, all I can find are 18mm above the clip on,...I dont have clip ons....so.. how "tall are the clip ons? or how far should I push the forks through? I have them at 40mm at the moment presuming the clip on is about 20mm, this I hope being right, should give me a "standard" to work from

Me neither, Renthals fitted to mine too. I had mine through my billet FZR600R top yoke around 38 mm and found it just about right, dropping them further quickens the steering (drop in) to the corners.
Try it, see how it suits your riding style, it`s easy enough to drop or raise them further.

18mm above the clipons is right, if you haven't got clipons, 40mm from top of the clamp (not the flat of the top yoke, the clamp itself) is the same.
