I pulled the rear brake master cylinder to pieces, cleaned it, back together and now the master cylinder will not pressurise. I tried to prime it , which did not help. Any suggestions?

I did not replace the seals while it was apart $175 for the kit, but all looked fine. I suspect not.

cheers mark

Patience. I haven't rebuilt the rear mc, but when I did the front MC & brake lines, it took a long time to get pressure back.

Take the caliper off, place like a tyre lever or something disc thickness inbetween the pads, then hold the caliper above the m/cyl ,,then pump and bleed, keeping the caliper always above the m/cyl this will bleed the air out much, much faster and you will have a pedal in no time. :)

Throw it in the bin - life is too short.

Have an ask on here or buy another from ebay for £10.

In fact, I've very porobably got one you can have for the cost of postage

Throw it in my bin... My vote is there is fk all wrong with it, just not bleed properly.

thanks for the advice all, I will try to elevate and persevere. Rear brakes are over-rated anyway.

cheers
