needles and tubes

I've got a set of Factory Pro emulsion tubes on order and, after taking advice here, was going to use Yamaha needles.

Fowlers quoted me nearly £50 a needle.

Do I bite the bullet and pay Mr yamaha or are other after market needles available and as good?

I'm guessing that if the tubes are worn then so are the needles and need replacing?

All guidance gratefully accepted, cheers. Andy.

Factory Pro needles are fine, they have a different (better taper for throttle response, IIRC) & are cheaper or on par with Yamaha.

I found the FPs difficult to set up for normal road use - changed back to stock yams - easy peasy

Factory pro are Titanium and shouldnt wear like the ally ones, they are apain to set up, get it done by a pro on a Dyno and hey presto nice clean carburation that shouldn't wear any where as quick as stock!

I bought my needles from Allens Performance 01949 836733 much cheaper and all genuine parts.

Thanks fellas, I was thinking of trying to do this myself, for the first time and maybe falling back on my good localish mot & mechanic man when things went pear shape.

He doesn't have a dyno and I'm not aware of one locally so maybe easier to set up Yamaha needles or similar would be better for me?

Just found a couple of dynos not too far away so may get the fp stuff and have them do it.

I can't recall having any problems setting mine up, however I did get them close, then have a dyno run for a/f ratios...
