The clear brake hose that can handle brake fluid, both mineral and synthetic, is known as Tygon 2075:

Amazingly tough stuff but ferkin expensive! Never the less I intend to use some on my TRX build.
Kayla`s right, go for a M/C with a reservoir built in, certainly the cheapest way to go, or indeed utilise one of the VERY cheap little billet brake reservoirs available from Korea and China?
Ebay is your place to look for these, some are even windowed too, simply search under billet brake reservoir.

By the way Dave, brake fluid is at atmospheric pressure in the tube / reservoir, it cannot absorb air as such but being hygroscopic it`ll certainly absorb moisture from any air present which affects it`s efficiency. This can then lead to a much lower boiling point.
Only when it enters the master cylinders chamber is it pressurised by lever / piston action before being forced down the lines to the caliper.

Kayla, diaphragms in master cylinder reservoirs are not always essential, the piston retracting problem is not an issue on many types of modern calipers. The wee billet reservoirs seldom have diaphragms.
