Fuel tap and storage

When I took ownership of my Rex the fuel tap was not set correctly. In some awkward 45 degree angle so someone was fiddling.

I believe it should be pointing down? Can someone confirm this? It then faces 'on' I believe and then if I wanted reserve it would face upwards and face res. I just need to check so I don't get stranded.

I also have very little in storage under the pillion seat. I have a tool kit strapped to the inside wall but there are also a couple of clips and another elastic strap along with some shallow brackets which would seam are the corner pieces for a spare battery or something. What should be under there and what are the parts for. I am not sure if I am missing something or not.

I removed my bracketry, I believe them to be storage for a small U lock or similar. I didn`t have Mr Yamaha`s original toolkit with my bike either.

yes mate . . .brackets for a U-lock as per Mr Yamaha . . . easily removed !

It`s `sensible` to run a small diameter drill down the mouldings in the undertray (the lowest points), any water that might accumulate in there will then be able to find it`s way out.

Both of mine come with those drain holes standard.

Also, you can remove the two pockets that the u lock would have poked into. Two philips head screws each underneath, then make a plate to cover the holes.

The undertray moulding has no holes at the bottom of them, at least mine didn`t, it has now though.
