Welcome Steve!
They are an interference fit job, simply heat up the bar end & some of the bar, then dip just the aluminum bar end into some cold water & it will just drop out.
Hope that helps, good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say "heat up" are you meaning blow-torch, oven or hot water stuff?
I see you are in Melbourne, what a great city, my New York wife (and I) love it there.

Yes, a blow torch would be best to the metal hot enough.
Melbourne is great, just tell the Sydney siders, they get a bit jealous
That said, I've not much to compare it against, I would imagine it would into insignificance in relation to New York...
Edit: Ah, I see you're in NZ, I'm planning to get over there to do some riding in the South Island in December, I've been told they have some great roads over there!

Don't get too focused on the South Island, there are some good roads but the North Island is probably better overall. However, if it's stunning scenery you want, stay down there.
Thanks again for the Bar-End info.
If you want any "road advice" send me an email.

Kiaora Shards,If you don't want to disassemble just use vice grips on the bar ends and screw them out. Will only take you a minute or so.

Thank you for the info, did just that, worked perefctly. I had a feeling that was the way, just didn't want to damage anything else.
