As stated I went out and it started raining so I put the bike away in the garage. Couple of days later went to move the bike from the garage and it would not move. The front brakes had stuck on. Eventually after a lot of pushing and pulling a could manage to turn the wheel then I followed this by a ride around the block which seemed to free the front brake up. Is this something to do with the rain from the last ride or is there a prob with my standard brakes?..

sounds like they could do with a service.
New seals maybe.
May well cost you a little or a lot depending on seal costs and labour charges.
Time for Blue Spots eh ?

I'm waiting on delivery of some gold spot calipers actually from an 04 R6 non radial. Do you know if these will work with the standard trx masters etc? Will this combo be better than the trx original brakes? Or is it a must to get some R6 masters.?

my advice to you, having just done the swap, is to use the 14mm bore R6 master that came out with your 04 goldies.
Good retardation without sacrificing good feel at the lever.
If you quick with the 5/8th master, the lever may be a bit hard.

Same thing happened to me a while back .... after a wet ride I didn't take the bike out for a week.
The front brakes were seized on. It was the pads-discs , not the pistons-calipers.
Pushing and pulling didn't free them , neither did putting the front end up on the stand and trying to turn the wheel by hand.
A large flat-bladed screwdriver inserted between the disc and the small tab on the brake pad and given a slight twist popped the pads away from the discs and all was well (after carefully polishing off the rust stains from the discs with some very fine wet-and-dry emery paper).
Yamaha brakes have a bit of a reputation of 'suffering from neglect' , but I've had my TRX for a lot of years now and as long as you don't 'neglect' the brakes .... they're fine. Check the pistons are working by inserting flat-bladed screwdriver between disc and pad, input a gentle twist and apply pressure at the brake lever ... the screwdriver will tell you if the piston is moving
An old racer once told me ... "The best way to go faster is to have good brakes" (Makes good sense when you think about it)

My TRX had EBC discs & blue spots fitted when i bought it if i go out in the rain or even wash it the discs corrode & 'mate' with the pads. Several of the pistons were seized when i got it. A mate had a TRX some years ago his standard set up seized, so he went for a quick spin to free it off & warped a disc
