has anyone noticed if they get one side of the engine in my case the left hand side getting hotter i have heard this is common if carbs not set up properly i have a pair of venom cans on any advice would be helpful thanks

TRX´s do, you can even see one pipe glowing a bit in the dark before the other....

I always thought it was which side of the road you ride on in your country, as to which cylinder runs hottest...

I thought it was a north or south of the equator thing like water down the plug hole.

thanks guys for the info i will try riding in the middle of the road and that should cure the problem

The carbs will be out of synk....maybe a clean out and a vacume balance check to the inlets would help...handy if you have a mechanic you can trust

i thank you and will give it a go. I take it it shouldn't cause any undue harm meantime. just noticed the other day when i was warming it up one side cool the other not so. Also at start up right exhaust more vapour until about a minute and then the other came in line and then both cleared after approx 3 mins. Have venom cans on but did this also with standard cans.I thought maybe it was a blocked water channel but not overheating

One cylinder hot than other, It's normal condition for 270 firing order engine & L-twin engine.

How are you testing this, if its with your hand the right hand cylinder will be cooler due to the cam chain housing.
Just a thought.

cheers guys yes by hand and it is left hand side that is hotter that may explain it.

Nah, feel the silencers after running for a minute....one warm other still cold

I just read a description of this on a versys forum, it has to do with vacuum in the manifold wich is less on second cylinder fire. IIUC!
It was a shiatelong explanaition but here´s a small part...

"The right cylinder runs richer because its vacuum and resulting air flow is lower than the left, causing the right header downpipe to run hotter from extra fuel afterburn, mostly bewteen idle and about 4000 rpm."

Keeping in mind that´s a 180 degree one...
