Jack up kit question.

Forgive my ignorance, but am I right in thinking a jack up kit would raise my seat height in relation to my footrests. I only ask as an old motorcycling injury means I dont have full bend in my right knee which makes life on my TRX a little uncomfortable to say the least. Cheers David.

I would say no, due to the fact that the rearsets are attached to the extended part of the frame and therefore when the seat gets higher so would the rearsets (both same distance apart). Someone please correct me if I am wrong

It will raise the foot pegs in relation to the ground, but not in relation to the seat, as Schmiffee says.

if you are tall enough, you can repad the seat to give you more inseam, or perhaps use a "vario peg" to lower the pegs although This may lead to ground clearance issues.
Maybe look at adapter plates to note the whole footpeg assemblies forward.

Thanks for all the replys. I wasnt sure about the jack up kit, but Im glad I asked now. The seat idea was the one I was going to go for. I have contacted various companies and have had quotes up to £150.00 which I thought was a tad steap. All I want is the seat raising about 1.5 inches but keeping the original shape, but I am not prepared to pay £150 for it, I didnt pay that for my as new Corbin seat on my Busa. If anyone on the forum could do this for me and do a good neat job It would make my life a much better place...especially when I am on the TRX, I will ovcourse pay. I even have the vinyl to cover the seat with. Thanks again David.

Have you considered buying some foam and tracking down a local upholsterer, you can even supply the vinyl to them too?

You`ll see that the TRX covers are simply stapled and glued in places.

Thanks for that Mince. I have ended up fitting some (as suggested) Vario footrests the difference they have made is night and day. The ground clearance issue isnt a problem as my hero days are well and truly a thing of the past. It means I can ride more or less all day now, stopping every now and then ovcourse.
