7,000 rpm to red line hesitatation ??

Hi. Been out today and had a really good ride out on some open roads and decided to really open that throttle up. Let's say third gear, the engines picking up like it should when accelerating but when it gets to just past 7,000 rpms for a moment it kind of goes flat or losses power then clears then keeps pulling hard into the red line. Does anyone else get this problem? Is there some simple fix to this?.

Cheers guys

Fuelling glitch Ritch,(poetry) at 7000 I`m guessing you`re at around half throttle, maybe more? So it would point towards the main jet, needle, and / or a fuel level issue in the float bowls.
Nothing for it but to get the carbs off for an inspection really. LOADS of threads recently about similar stuff and expect some wear on the needles and / or the emulsion tubes too. It`s not likely to be dirt or some kind of contamination but you can`t fully rule it out either.

Is it a black engined import? Could be an issue with the way it was derestricted.

Otherwise it's most liley fuelling as Mince has suggested

At what revs does the restrictor cut in Phuk?

the restriction is on the speedo though so if you have an Australian speedo its not an issue.

I have a grey import engine in mine and I was up to 220 at the weekend down in the snowies so no issue there.

That`s only 136 mph, My TRX would do that any day sat up in the wind with Renthal bars and Dawn on the back! In fact I saw over 140 once with the tent and two doss bags on the ventura rack.
That was pretty much balls out though and I couldn`t hold it for too long as my neck started to cry out for comfort.
Of course I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the aftermarket speedo.

I had some fueling problems just last week. The bike was holding back, and had a massive stumble when the throttle was shut and opened again at about 5000 revs. Turned out the problem was worn needles, no harm in checking.

LOL, had to wash off 100kmph for a bend Mince...... coming off the 250 last year it was a whole new experience

In any case, what is the top speed of the TRX? I don't mind giving it the beans every now and again if the mood takes me but there are limited opportunities

 Sorry been well busy! Restrictor cuts in at 7000, and drops you onto one pot at exactly 112.5 mph! It will not rev any higher either. Re the top speed, its all about gearing. Mine will do 138 on the clock, but gets there very quickly.
