Clutch sensor question/can't restart the engine when in gear

Hi

I ran a search for a question I had but I am a little clueless as to what it could be under/search for.

Since the rebuild of my TRX, I changed a few things and now for some reason, I can no longer restart the engine if I stall when in a gear and pulling the clutch lever. Not that it's a major problem but since I do a lot of town riding in central London & suburbs, I am perhaps more prone to stalling if I don't pay enough attention when taking off at the traffic lights... having to find neutral in order to restart the engine in those moments might create a tricky situation.

I am sure I was able to this before and the only thing I can think off that is causing this issue is the fact that I recently fitted some shorty levers and to do so, had to fit an early R6 clutch clamp/perch. This means I am not able to reconnect some cables that where connected to the TRX clutch clamp/perch. Is that the source of the issue and what can I do to by pass this? Or is the issue from elswhere/what should I check?

Cheers
Adrien

Short the clutch contact(or check/replace), i had to when installing the ISR´s.

Yep a switch at the lever is what you require, one that makes contact when you pull in the lever. You could of course do away with it altogether like I have.
I always know when I`m in gear and when my sidestand is down irrespective of idiot lights, I hate `safety` gadgets on bikes that effectively allow the riders to become dullards.

OK, so I suppose I can just cut the connector and join the two cables (+ & -) together? (I am a bit clueless when it comes to electrics  )

Yup, you can test between the + and - with a paper clip first

yup, two small spade type connectors (halfords or similar?) at either end of a small bit of wire, push these into the existing clutch switch wires, wrap it up with a bit of black tape and that should sort it out, also giving you the option to return to standard should it be required,

Great stuff, I'll add this to my list of "little" things to finish off :D
