Crankcase Gasket Leak

Post by monkey79 » Tue May 22, 2012 11:24 am

Hi guys,

Had the TRX a few months now and starting to give her some TLC. It had an oil leak from the left side (as you sit on the bike) crankcase cover. The chap before me had put a new one on since the bike had been dropped and cracked the housing. I've removed the cover and all looks nice, clean and straight.

Anyone had any issues/experience with this i.e. should one be putting a little gasket sealant around here on reassembly? If so anything I should be looking at? I've got the Yamaha gasket.

Cheers!

I like to apply a thin coat of black silastic to each side of the gasket upon reassembly.
Did it a couple of days ago and tight as a fish's bum.
