Anyone know if any of the Yamaha 6 pot calipers will fit the TRX???? And is it worth doing compared to blue or gold spots? Running single disc front end and looking for a bit more stopping power.

im sure that the six potters [much different to the harry potter]...are the same bolt spaceing as ive had the old trx calipers on my yzf 750 front and also had the six pot calipers as well
therefore the trx at least will fit on i guess

want a set..?

How did you find the 6 potters compared to the TRX calipers, and how much do you want for them?

No experience myself but from what I have read in mags etc the 6 pots on the yzf750 etc performed well but where prone to seizeure and required a reasonable amount of preventative maintainence. When the blue spots came along they were something of a revaluation in that they performed just as well or perhaps even better than the 6 pots and had none of the reliability issues

I think the six pot and the blue spot are roughly the same in terms of stopping power from what I have read on the forums so far, the main difference being the sixpots are designed around a 320mm disc and the trx is 300
I suppose the thing to note is that most folks seem to be doing the bluespot conversion to the yzf forks which would suggest the bluespots are better. I think there is less maintenance to do on the bluespots also.

going a bit off topic here but did you try the six pot and 14mm combo? I have this on the bike now but not got it finished yet, so havnt tried it on the road, but,... the lever feels as though there will be a lot of control and plenty power there.

Bit late perhaps, but I can confirm that YZF six pots will fit the TRX´s bolt pattern.
TRX, YZF750, YZF1000, R1 (at least 00-01) have the same bolt pattern. :)

They will fit indeed but the brake pads take a smaller part of the disc (because they are ment for 320mm discs).
I 've had 6-pots on my TRX (original forks, 300 mm discs) and didn't like it at all. Stopping power isn't bad but in all honestly I have never felt a bike with firm brake handle feeling if 6-pots were fitted (YZF750R or TRX). To revise the 6-pots costs a small fortune, hence the massive swap to bluespots.
The bluespots also use the whole disc, as it should be.
