hello ive had a few issues with my trx .... it was boiling the batterys dry last time i had it out .... so i bought a new battery charged it up with optimate ... put it on the bike and fitted a new rectifier ... regulator ... tested for charge voltage and it isnt charging i put the old rectifier back on and its the same it isnt charging .... tested at battery and tested between the 3 white wires to check for voltage coming from generator ... altenator and it was as 4v - or + .5v .... ive ordered a new generator ... but noticed the rectifier was getting hot and also the 3 white wires coming from the generator where getting hot too ...... am i barking up the wrong tree here not new to swinging spanners but new to swinging spanners round bikes

cheers in advance guys and gals waiting in anticipation of your replys .... thasnks again H

Genrators do go on TRX`s, no more so than any other bike though. I had to put a new one of mine after it died on me.
There is a resistance test you should carry out between the three wires from the generator, you`ll find the values in Mr Haynes bible or perhaps in the downloads section on here, look under the repair / service pdf.

apparently the volt when running between any two of the 3 wires can be between 14 and 40 v .... mine was a measly 4 + or - .5 will let you know how things come along and get some pics up .... low milage too 19k from new not bad for a 16 yr old trx
