Hi all . i have a small problem . my bike came with brembos ,braking is poor .far to much effort needed to haul it down ,the master cylinder is standard .Im not sure if its right for the job .but first stop is new pads .Problem is there is no id on the cals so i could do with some .I am presuming ther is just one type of brembo that fits .any help appreciated ,cos i dont wish to chase round dealers with a sample.

The Brembos are basically the same caliper as the ones fitted to most 90s Ducatis (SS 600, 750, 900, most Monsters and basic 748 & 916s) except the mounting holes are 100mm apart instead of 40mm. Look for any pads from any of these bikes, the EBC code for the pads is FA244 or FA244HH for sintered pads

Try a rebuild if the standard caliper aren't doing it for you, otherwise Blue/Silver/Goldspot replacements.

Personally, I found the stock (non-brembo) calipers more than adequate, but the cost for rebuilding them was more than the cost of new Goldspot calipers...

Nothing wrong with those calipers Cass as long as they are in good working order. Check all the other components of your braking system.
I have run those calipers with the standard m/c and braided lines and performance was fine but then I paired them up with brembo radial m/c and performance is awesome. One of the best performance mods I have made.
