Electric Fuel Pump

Hi,

Anyone any idea on what fuel psi for electric fuel pump? Was thinking 4-6psi? Motor is in off-road buggy and I'm using a tail mounted tank behind engine.

Carbs are Keihin 41FCR's. Must I run a gravity tank feed setup? Or will the electric fuel pump work with a regulator?

the other alternative I have is a vacuum pump with hand primer bulb

with the FCR's, can I run a vacuum pump using vacuum from the intake ports?

hI john, i would most likley go with the system that was with the bike from origional which is an intake vacume actuated diaphram pump...no need for a hand primer as the engine should fire with the fuel sitting in the float bowls.
I understand that you may not be aware of the origional fuel pump system as you are only using the engine,..however,its worth looking into as these engine carbs..-AND the FCRs... are pump fed from new..not gravity, which is why you might be thinking otherwise.

Thanks for that. Yeah I don't have any of the original fuel system which is why I was thinking of gravity feed.

Ok, I'll source an original TRX vacuum pump, and may also go the hand bulb route also just in case. Cheers for the input.

Ive seen some of the TRX engined buggies on u-tube and apart from the useable power, they sound just so good..
Know where you are..! =D>

Cheap electric fuel pumps at low pressure (up to 4psi) are everywhere on the WWW and yes you can use them, some examples:
