Advise from the gurus required please . I've finally gotten around to fitting up the R6 shock and kayla adapter that's been in the cupboard for about 6 months and I've remembered why I put it there in the first place. I don't have a spare bolt to connect the bottom of the R6 shock to the Kayla adapter. My question is; as the bottom of the R6 shock and adapter are locked together when they're bolted up (i.e no movement required at this joint) would I be fine to just go down to the local bolt shop and pick up a strong (high tensile or something) bolt and nut of the correct length and diameter rather then requiring another bolt identical to the standard bottom shock bolt? Man that was a long question . Hope it makes sense

The oem bolt has a thick waist and a smaller thread.
This is to fix the shoulder of the bolt against the inside of the bracket to keep the load on the link bush correct, and not squeeze it too tight.
The oem bolt has a locking nut, but the oem shock bottom mount is thinner, so the nut has more purchase.
On miss blackie, i had to use another bolt with more thread protrusion to pass roadworthy (engineer picky ), drilling out the other side of the adapter equal i.d. And drill & lockwire the nut (nylock) to the adapter.
When i get home, i can take a picture once the rain goes away

There's no need to use a shoulder bolt, there's no movement between the two parts so you can use an M12 nut and bolt
