Hi,

Tossing up between 3 cans. IXIL, Musarri or Screaming Demon.

Have read previous thread on IXIL so know they're good, but don't particularly like the Screaming Demons as wont suit the look of my offroad buggy.

Anyone had experience with Musarri? Don't know if links work as first time used in forum. Cheers.

Give them a call at MEGACYCLE in Melbourne John. He will be able to tailor make the can to what ever length, inlet size and outlet also. Even though its been mentioned He has closed, he's still in business just working from home. There was a choice of alloy, stainless and carbon fibre. I'm looking at another alloy one myself instead of the Akrapovic can on the system.

Thanks depends on condition and also must have removable DB killer, as they're going on an offroad racing buggy that the motor is installed in. Already have heaps of good gear for motor (big bore, oversize valves etc) so chasing HP and torque. If you could upload some pics that'd be great.

G'day Johnno440, I had a look at them yesterday, they are Marriott Brothers, but, no dB killers, & it looks one has been reskinned, probably not what you're after, sorry. I bought them cheap on eBay & just chucked them in the garage :D

Wanna buy these?

http://www.trx850.com/phpBB_forum/viewt ... f=5&t=8059

They are in excellent condition (no rash or marks). Since I chopped my frame any standard length pipe is too long, hence these are no good to me!

I bought a set of Screaming Demon short pipes from Ebay about a month ago. I'm happy with them so far (see my post about exhaust shape and sound).

Cheers,
Rjen.

Am looking at Arrow GP2 slip ons but unsure if suited to TRX.
Arrow GP2.jpg
GP2 exhausts are born from experience and style taken from the systems made for Moto2 World Championship and the goal was to satisfy the needs of those motorcyclists willing to fit their sport bikes (and not only Japanese ones) with something less "usual".GP2 exhausts are available as slip-on only (silencer and mid-pipe) and the main feature is the very light silencer, fully made in titanium, short and small, with a round section and a slash-cut end pipe. For a slip on, power increase is really interesting and, moreover, the sound is really "nasty". Where needed, the support clamp is also made in titanium. Another distinctive feature is the specially-designed Arrow logo. Available only in race version, GP2 exhausts are ready to be fitted with a spare dB-killer, specially designed for these silencers and available to be purchased separately.

I know bugger about all these things, but looking for something to mate with a 2 into 1 big bore exhaust that will produce the most torque and HP (engine fully modded). Noise no issue as off-road only. Some other forums state that these don't produce as much HP as some other silencers due to being slips on and also cause they are so short :?

What is the difference between a slip on and a normal silencer? Should I be looking at something longer?

Just "google" shopping at the moment and exploring all options.

Hi john :)
you are in some uncharted territory for us trxers.
a somewhat difficult question you pose.
perhaps similar, is my experienced with short and long primaries on rotary engines.
Short primary pipes give bottom end and midrange, whilst a set of long primary pipes produces more topend.
How much room do you have for your pipework ?
Cathcartp trx had long pipes and big cans.
Moto 3 bikes use long systems :)
