front brake master cyl

HI guys i have a problem My front brake lever travel feels rough On initial application not much happens then i get reasonable breaking I feel it must be a worn master cyl The bike has brembo callipers Would an r6 mc suit or any suggestions? a good tip from me Dont join the forum with the caps lock on or it will always seem that you are shouting ta in advance.

Mine went from the cylinder not being pushed out again (I guess the seal must have been sticking to the bore), to nothing happening until the very last bit of travel and then it quickly gave up all together. I have now fitted an 11/16 radial Nissin unit off a ZX10-R (some GSX-Rs are the same) and it's brilliant tough I am currently dealing with the front now sticking on! I'll clear the tiny return hole and see if that sorts it.. Anyway! 11/16 seems a little on the soft side, if you like that then great but if you want a solid lever the more popular 19mm version should be just fine.

Alternatively you could rebuild your old one, if you have some circlip pliers it's very easy to do and quite a bit cheaper. I thought mine was too badly scored to reuse but after seeing the inside of a M/C off my CB250 with 60K on it the TRX one looked like new inside. Up to you!
