Hi i have been keeping an eye on the forum for a couple of months and it has been of great help to me. I have tried to join 3 times but kept getting admin needs to confirm mails back.
I am a Kiwi living in notrh London. I have had my 1995 trx since september and am loving it. But i have a problem. Due to school being on holiday, yay no work for me

!! I decided to do a bit of maintance on my bike. 1st thing was to wip the rocker off and check the valve clearences as it has been making a little rattle and i wanted somthing to do. All was working out fine (apart from having 0 clearance on all my intake valves) so i pull the cams out to have a little play and get a bace line to work from on the inake side. Only to find that i need a new head. One of the cam berings has f@£ked up

. im not a happy camper.
So if any one out there can point me in the direction of a good complete head or a bear head and a intake cam and caps i would be very happy.
I look forward to any help any one can give me
Cheers Brent

Hi and welcome
Have you checked there is no damage to the cams? You'll be lucky to find a decent head - but good luck all the same.
I have a complete engine for sale though

how screwed is it ? are you able to take a pic and post so we can have a look ?
The fact that it was running and only making "a little rattle". Sure it could be stuffed, but maybe its saveable. Getting it fixed might be cheaper than getting a whole new head, since they are starting to be like chickens teeth.

its the inlet on the left when sitting on the bike.
It cant be repaired as it iis not a bearing as such ie two shells that can be removed and replaced. the running surface is part of the head and it is screwed. the cam is scored and it looks like if i left it for to much longer the surface was about to delaminate. so its a new head. i have found one at a wreacker for £150 complete so i am guessing i will have to snap it up.
I can post some pics if you guy want a look but the guy at my local workshop confirmed what i had been thinking as soon as he looked at it and said it was donald ducked. I think if i was deaprate i could give the cam a bit of a polish an have a go at the cap and head with a bit of emery paper to get me going but i am planning on doing a 10 week tour of eroupe over summer and dont really want to risk the chance of it doing the whole engine. But that would be a good excuse to buy a falco haha

The suggestions on this forum on how to get headers off would now probably equal "War and Peace" in volume.
Hit search and see what you can come up with.

got them off. Had to get out the hacksaw blade and cut the studs between the head and the flange. now i just got to drill out the old studs and fit them to the new head. SORTED.

To phuk72 - I'm looking for a complete motor to put into my SuperTen to replace the very dead 750 unit and I'm interested in finding out more about the one you have for sale (plus I'll need carbs and coils I think). I'm happy to hear about any other UK engines for sale (including TDM850 motors)
Thanks in Advance
Mike
