How far will it go...?

Hi Greg!

I bought mine with about 54.000 km (from memory) and it drank about a 3/4 liter of oil per thousand km.
Now it has 73.000 km on the clock (from memory, maybe 74.000) consuming about a little less than one liter of oil per thousand kms.

But runs still outrageous!

(at full acceleration sometimes a little fancied(?) wheelie when shifted in 3rd gear!)

Mine had 70000 km on it when I rebuilt the top end. At the same time I fitted a MPH speedo, and now it reads something like 18000 miles I think.

Pretty much all wearing parts are easily replaced, or rebuildable so there's no reason why any bike won't run and run.

I do think the TRX engine has a tendency to get a bit rattly though. New timing chains and tensioner might be a good idea sometime around about the 50000 mile point I reckon.

Mines up to 87,000 km's, had a motor rebuild at 79,300 km's.

Mine has done 92,802km had the head done & new rings @83,000km

Fitted set Michelin Pilot Road 2 tyres 1000km ago with a new set of steering head bearings, fresh fork oil, put the .95kg forksprings back in and the standard links at the rear, with the shock serviced.

And the result is......

TRX running better than ever... hope it lasts another 98,000km

Mine's done a staggering 9843kms. Still going well despite the owner's insistence that it's a track bike!

60,350kms, still going strong, but needs a service soon.
Mostly a cosmetic resto needed really.

Mines done 54000 Miles

34,000 in last 3 1/2 years...burns 1/4 litre for 500km

Mines held together by cable ties and dirt but still goes well

I had mine since about 50000 kms, now it's done 63000 kms.

As far as I the only major work has been panel beating.

I've only done a measly 40,101.2km since I bought the bike new in April 1996

One disadvantage of a global jet-setting lifestyle, you're never home on the weekend to ride your bikes

Mine looks like a baby with 38000kms on clock. Daily runner with around 90 km round trip so if I can get the sort of distances mentioned here I will be more than happy.

I`m up to 82000km..
The previous owner changed the valves at 40000km, due to high oil consumption.
This summer I had to fill in 1l oil at 10000km.

I'm back in Oz for a few weeks holiday. Currently in Melbourne. It's pissing down with rain.
Can someone remind me of what it's like to actually ride a bike?
