Yeah it's good - but like Holer says, it's a bit dark - depends on your screen tho, I've seen it on two different pc's and on one I can only make out the cans at the top.

Errr... never, I say never argue the color or look of an image in a forum unless you know for certain you screen is calibrated. Whether it's a simple matter or setting a correct whitepoint and then adjusting brightness/contrast to a nice level or doing a full calibration with a tool. You will get as many different looks as there are screens.... and typically, most people don't have a calibrated screen.
Which of course will make the one that actually has one make a logo everyone else thinks is crap...
Just a thought, in the argument about "too black" and so forth
The image presented is good enough. It's black in the dark areas and details are clear enough, s'pose thats the general idea? Image of the engine detail I like, but sorry Ringo; your bike from behind doesn't really turn me on...
As for color scheme, I like black. It's not as hard on the eye as a colorful background tend to be, but it's not good for reading. We're used to reading black text on white paper. Something in between always strike me as easy on the eye: black background with light grey text or white backing with dark grey text... or any color combination that matches without too much/too little contrast.
Just a few pence worth of opinion without anyone asking for it

Sheesh!!! Sorry, for some reason I missed this...
Looks nice, and has potential.
At the moment I'm sorta waiting for the phpBB people to finalize the new version 3.0 software to make major changes to our site. They have a beta out, that the mods and I have played with that is much more powerful than this old forum. I think we will be able to make custom templates with it to do what we need. I'd hate to do that all now and then find out it has to be all redone when the release the new version.
