Oh, I agree...but I think I would have fought tooth and nail for it, and possibly even eyes
Understeer - when you hit the fence with the front of the bike.
Oversteer - when you hit the fence with the rear of the bike.
Horsepower - how fast you hit the fence.
Torque - how far you take the fence with you.

That "new" one is a beauty, but does anyone have a TRX with a build date/ compliance plate "newer" than July 2001? No big deal, just wondering when the last ones rolled off the production line.

The TRX is build from 1995 - 1999. Thats what i know. Correct me if I'm wrong...
I dont think that your TRX is build in 2001, its on licence since 2001 maybe...

The compliance plate, that is , the one riveted to the frame near the steering head, is stamped 07/01 and followed by the vin number. Also has Yamaha Motor Corporation and TRX850 and a few other things printed on it. The paperwork with this bike shows it was purchased new in June 2002, when it was first registered. I have also seen a few 2000 models in Sydney which have a sticker ( factory ) on front fairing " Millenium ...". But as you said, all the parts lists and manuals say 95 to 99....maybe an OZ mystery?

I heard from a wrecker that there were 10 models brought into Australia for 2001, I don't know if they were leftovers or made from parts or what...

Interesting if true.

Maybe we should start a list with VIN numbers/location/date of 1st use. I've bought mine in '99 as a '98 (last???) model.
