IF it does is the 8mm requiring to be machined from the inside of the left fork leg all that`s required or is there more to be done?

Re: Fork Converson
So folks, ANYONE know if a Thunderace (1000cc not 750cc
) wheel works in an R1 fork set?

Yes a Thunderace wheel does go into early R1 forks mince - i didn't use mine in the end because i bought the Galespeeds. The easiest way is to have the speedo drive face machined down to fit (which means you also keep the cable driven speedo) I've got a spare newly powder coated front wheel (as new) with brand new (never used) wavey discs fitted c/w modded speedo drive to bolt straight into R1 forks if anyones interested?
