Was the last 35 miles due to mechanical or physical failure..??

Bike was still running but as I pulled into a service station to warm up (November) the gearbox was screaming at me due to lack of oil & that was a good enough excuse for me to call it a day. I think that was the reason for rebuilding the whole bike when I got home.
Not heard the name Stan Stevens for donkey years. I remember the RGV250 which he fitted a 350YPVS motor to (yamagamma ?) in performance bike magazine back in the day, probably late 80's.

I like two strokes as well...my only problem with them on a track is the inevitable seizure while you're knee down in a very fast corner. Or even a very slow one. That's why KR-1S riders had an average life expectancy of 2 months. My trials bike can seize if it likes, as I'll hopefully not be going more than 10mph.

Always 2 or 3 fingers on clutch lever, and very quick reflexes, Oh and listen to the engine, its why racers of the 60's and 70's didnt wear any ear plugs. But if the crank seized you were down the road.

doesn't matter when you suffer epilepsy weather its a 2 stroke or 4 if it seizes... you soon learn to get the feel of things and the bikes no different...you feel it coming 99.9% of the time Its just a matter of being sensitive to things and being open to that...
