Word of warning though, If you go bigger at the rear sprocket by 3 or more teeth, check you have enough slack in your chain to accomodate the bigger sprocket.

I just got a new standard length and pitch chain and tried it with a spare 42 tooth rear sprocket I had kicking about and it was WAY too short.

If your chains old and stretched a bit, you may be ok. Check where the rear wheel adjuster is at to see how much forward movement the wheel has.

Absolutely well said Trixynut, I buy chains too long for purpose generally then keep the short section I may need to take out and simply utilise it with two joining links if I`m playing with gearing much lower gearing.
I have a nice 114 link 525 ready for when the bike is returned to the road, non O ring too. I prefer to keep as many gee, gee`s as I can, transmission loss on my Skorp has been noted at 2 bhp (on a respected dyno) with an O ring chain over a heavy duty motocross ERT that I now run.
Of course the chains don`t last as long but hey that`s the trade off.
