Hi, Would anyone know (UK) how much a major service would cost and what should be done?

I got a quote of ~£240 for valve clearances being done at the local Yamaha dealer depending on how well it came apart (because it's ancient?) and how many shims were needed. I did it myself shortly afterwards.
Are you looking for dealer prices or general workshop prices? Always best to phone around the places you might actually go to, of course..

ive got a local Yamaha dealer down the road. Not sure where else I can go. Though saying that I might pop into a nearby bike café and ask for any recommendations there. But I should think there might be a bit of a difference between independent and dealer prices, plus it all depends on what work gets done.

This is from the owner's manual, if you can zoom in on them they can be read..
Quite what sort of price you're looking at for valve clearances/carb sync/oil and filter change/swingarm and rear suspension link pivots and steering head bearings regrease/coolant change I cannot imagine. Got to be at least £600 at a dealer?

Nice one Snod Blatter! Thanks for posting that info, that is exactly what I needed to know. Basically so I know what the person doing the service should have actually done and charged me for. Thanks
