Clutch

Clutch is sliping after refitting engine, been dry for a while.
I have now taken the clutch cover of now Seems very dry in there not much oil, dont seem right to me Ive put new oil in it & only ridden it say 10klm since refitting engine.
Any thoughts Boys

I usually imerse in oil and soak the fibre plates overnight before installing them if new or been sitting out for a while.

thanks My XS plates sit in a pool of oil. Not so with the TRX then becours no oil came out when cover was removed

The XS has a wet sump whereas the TRX has an oil tank snd a second oil pump to lift the oil back to the tank.
That said, I'd expect some oil around the clutch. Make sure you have the level right - these engines have a habit of eating crankshafts if it is wrong!

so TRX normal use, how much oil is normally in behind clutch cover around the clutch?

I've had the clutch cover off a few times.
With the bike resting on the side stand there little to no oil in the clutch, certainly not enough to dribble out.

and if the non-return ball valve is working there should be very little oil in the sump
