im not very mechanically minded fuel injected??

ive recently got my TRX and was thinking of getting it Dynoed Tuned

are TRX fuel injected or use carbies ???


i know it might sound stupied but im learning this as i go along.

sunday night i did something for the first time,

i changed my oil and oil filter.( which i never have done before)

have gain conferendence from attending an basic motorcylce mechanic course, where they teach you the basics

any way i will endeaver to get some pics up.


also im thinking of asking the father in law if we could make an bike stand

im not paying $120 for some metal when the father in law has plently laying around in his shed

G'day Loud, Trx's have carby's. The later TDM 900 is fuel injected.
If you can change the oil filter no problem then everything else will be easy . The full workshop manual is available here as a download, the exploded views are very helpful.
Max also designed and built his own race stand and you should be able to get a pattern off that one by searching this site.

What sort of stand you after ? a "race" one for the rear wheel, where you chock it up, or one that you ride onto, like a table, and raise it up.

Rear wheel stand is fairly easy compared to a table !.. just for interest sake, i got a race stand, uni fit (its truly uni fit, you DONT need lugs or anything) and got it for $50 from ebay.. Theres some bargains out there, just look around might save you some heart ache.. But by all means, making your own gives you a sense of satisfaction.

Carbie tune up, go see Show n go, they can tune it, else if you want a full "dyno" run, theres a fair few around adelaide who can do it. Best i know of is nevil down @ victor harbor, he is the best, but cost a bit.. But again, you get what you pay for (he does full race / drag bike engines,, he knows his shit).

Conrats on the mechanics course! I say "you're never too young to learn", and once you've got your rear stand sorted out get the old man to make you a front stand too. I made mine by welding a bracket to an old car jack (scissor type) with a 10mm rod that slides through the holes in the front of the crankcases so I can get the front off the ground for tyre changing &c. I'll leave you young engineers to sort out the finer details ....
