At the risk of opening a big can of worms does anyone have a recomendation on tyre choices for a nearly stock trx?

I do a LOT of highway km's as in 1000 in a day sometimes (yes it hurts a lot after) but would still like to carve it up in the twisties when I get a chance.

Currently have Pirelli Diablo's front and rear but they are starting to look like car tyres from the long straight highways

Pilot powers would be finished in 6 weeks if you're doing 1000 kays a week The Michelin Pilot Roads are a better option for more highway orientated riding and still offer a fairly reasonable performance level for the twisties.

Michelin Pilot Road 2 or another comparable tyre with dual compound.

Single compund alternatives include Pirelli Diablo Strada or Metzeler Roadtec Z6 (which I happen to like as a "vacation tyre")

for a cheap but sticky alternative try Shinko's,you won't be dissapointed

Ridgi, have you used the Shinko's?. I posted a question about them a few years back, but at the time no one knew much about them. I was gonna try them but couldn't get any first hand advice about them. Tell me more if you have had experience with them.

Just put a set on the Rex alot of drag racers use them cause they heat up so quick.So far so good they stick like bear shit to rabbit fur and for a very,very good price.As for longevity well time will tell but for $270.00 for a set of tyres i'm not complaining.My bike feels like a different bike with new hoops

Here's Shinko's 003 stealth,i'm running a 003 on the front and a 009 which is a tad different on the rear

... and now I think about it would I ask a drag racer to recommend anything I was going to fit to a vehicle that goes around corners....

A bitch to get up to working temperature and dangerous in the wet?

For me tyres are what stops me falling off and I would never buy cheap alternatives.
