just found this video about bike crashes but in the video at 06.18 you will see a stone memorial of what looks like a TRX?

good video, good song as well. I believe that there is a TRX headstone in the Netherlands somewhere, maybe our dutch colleagues can enlighten us.

Seen that video before but there were still moments where I was shocked - should be compulsory viewing for all new riders!!

The stone bike is a TRX I think - someone posted it on Dugy's old site - maybe that's when I saw the video before too.

bikes ARE NOT dangerous.
bike are VULNERABLE.

Next time a narrow minded car driver says "yer but bikes are dangers".. remind them that they are not, but you are vulnerable to their dangerous driving..

Its the same vein as "guns dont kill people".. im not a gun person.. But its true for them.. Same with bikers. We are just more vulnerable to morons with no road driving ability.

90% of what i saw on that video was the cars fault.. EVERYONE at my work / friends say its usually the bikers fault for speeding.. WTF ? yes, sometimes bikers DO ride beyond their means and do some silly things.. Like one guy in that video overtaking a van that started to turn left on him.. BUT the car didnt have an indicator.. In a court of law, biker would get off (in australia) as the line was broken on the road.

ALso, one guy entering a freeway / highway.. big sweeper to the left, the bike just dropped from under him. then he got run over.. That was his own fault, riding beyond his limits.. He should have been more careful.. And someone was setup taping him ? shoulda had a mate with a 2way saying the road was clear BEFORE attempting it.. i know ghostrider has a fleet of ppl telling him how conditions are.. smart move..

IMHO it's more often than not the biker's fault for not predicting potential dangers. Any side road, intersection or blind spot is a recipe for disaster. Passing cars, same thing.

I never enter go through an intersection without thinking some idiot might run a red light. When passing cars, only where there is no where for them to turn and even then I scope out their awarness level first (not talking on their mobile, eating snacks, putting on makeup, reading a newspaper... yes they do that here!). And when passing, I try to keep one eye on their hands (on the wheel) and get past as quickly as possible.

Face it, cages outnumber us hands down. And we are hard to see. Ride like everyone else on the road is trying to kill you and you'll be better off.

I've been cleaned up three times - once by a pissed idiot doing a U-turn in front of me (no major injuries, bruised and sore for weeks, bike a write-off).
Twice by cars turning across traffic in front of me - broken leg the first time (in traction for 6 weeks), and lucky enough for both myself and (now) wife to walk away the second time. (Second one was an off-duty police officer!).

Mind you, South Australian drivers are the most moronic I've seen!!
