About to get a set of FCRs

Looks like santa's been nice to me.
Gonna get me a set of brand new FCR41s.
Bike has std motor, headers and and pipes as well as std airbox.
Should I:
a) remove airbox, get appropriate Sudco intake adaptors and K&N filters (either pods or a twin pod set-up) and filter for the crankcase breather?
or
b) keep std airbox, get appropriate airbox adaptors and std or K&N filter?
Do you need a quick action throttle for these or is the std throttle OK?
Did someone say before that out of the box these carbs are set up for std motor and pipes?

they are set up for a standard motor air box and pipes, you will need to buy a new set of throttle cables, you need to ask for them, sudco supply them to, as for airbox versus seperate air filters, never done a back to back test but most seem to ditch the airbox, if you do you will have to rejet easy job,I only took mine to a dyno for curiosity and make sure the air/fuel ratio was correct did,nt realy care much about the bhp result you might want to order them with the tps aswell, even on a standard motor they work well

If you're buying a set intended for a TRX they should come ready to bolt straight on (i.e run the standard airbox and TPS) I'd be tempted to run it like this if your engine and headers are stock.

Way to go! I wish santa had brought some of these to my place this year... Let us know how you go - I too am very curious about running these with a std airbox and headers.... look forward to hearing the updates

They are just a pipedream for me at the moment...

Bob im running 39s with tps and k&n filters. They are noisey however they are uncluttered and a little less weight than standard. I got new cables complete with twistgrip from show & go in Adelaide for $110. Also purchased new needles and seats, found them good to deal with so if you need any gear you could try them. Let us know how you go as am curious to see how 41s perform on the road.

Dobbo, yeah I know they're noisy and clattery. I had a set of horizontal mount 41's on my Guzzi, quite a few years ago. And they sound great - especially the induction noise. Pity they weren't downdraught. I would've taken them off the bike when I crashed it (was in hospital for a few days)

Greg brought them from a wreckers and the whole set up came from a trx so did not need to change anything. Floats were leaking so changed needles and seats. I did get it dynoed and he only had to ajust accelerater pump to get it right. Sorry about that mate.

Loud enough that I can hear the slides rattle and the induction roar over the exhaust

Put my standard quiet can's on for a "quiet day" at Donington Track but obviously left the FCR's on: then you can hear them in their full glory! Rattle? yep. Roar? yep. Thought I was gonna have me balls sucked in? Yep!!
NOT ANYMORE! Seems my wife has decided that the money could go to better use in the form of a rainwater tank.
Bad luck mate! Experience has taught me to build up a small slush fund, over time, for purchases for the bike and then to pay cash, and if found out, say it cost half what it did!

That's the way.
Or in my case, a 1/4 of what they actually cost
