I wouldn't bother. The rubber seal (in good condition) will suffice....

yeah i had one that i thought was in good condition, and now its leaking, hence why i have to it again. I think i might put on a bit of silicon.

I read somewhere that one should change gasket after the valvecover has been off for three times....correct or not i don´t know but mine is also leaking and i have bought myself a new one for change this spring.

New gasket should suffice, unless you've damaged the face of the head or cover. Are you sure it's leaking from the joint and not, say, the oilway bleed bolt?

I'm sure its leaking at the joint, i can see it coming out.

also make sure you replace the o ring for the water inlet and i also changed the std bolt for a stainless cap head

long as everything is cleaned well, a new gasket should be fine.

I personally wouldnt use any sealing silicone. If that stuff gets into your oil filter... yer.. its not pretty.
If you DO use silicone, make sure you use it very sparingly. dont blob it on.
