holes in the engine

Ok, i've got a couple of small holes that maybe some screws / bolts have come out of. One is on the left hand side (as you sit on the bike) of the engine/head, the other is on the right hand side (as you sit on the bike) on the sump.
The one in the sump looks like it once had a bolt, though it dosn't seem to be a problem - no oil is coming out. The one on the head - is this normal, is it there from when the head was cast?

here's the pics -

they are both as they should be.

the one on the head is a drain hole. there is a drilling between the two sparkplug holes leading to this hole, to drain any water that collects around the plugs.

no idea what the one in the oil pan is for.
