The TRX is gone.
I think I made a big mistake.
Nobody say a thing.
I am seriously p!ssed off ...
So it started on Wednesday when that @sshole from the states sent me another 10 messages on Ebay, all equally vitriolic and threatening all sorts of karmic doom and misfortune ...
Then the bike finally sold, to a guy from Belgium of all places - red-hot keen to get the bike, but I looked at the rear tyre and saw it wasn't as good as I'd said so thought that it would be the decent thing to do to make sure the rear was OK ..I had a spare rear wheel anyway so I stuck the bike on the stand, and gave the wheelnut a good heave and the f*cking bike fell off the stand ... Noooooo - slow motion time grrrr It didn;t make too much nose as it went down so I thought it wasn;t too bad - until I picked it up and looked at it .... I saw straight away that the fairing had a crack at the front just by the headlamp mounting post, naaah that's ok I thought, but then I saw the pipe.... the fukken thing had been almost folded in two
, my beautiful and expensive Akra ... FUBAR!!! Anyway, after I finished doing my best Basil Fawlty impression, I called MooreSpeed - a new sleeve would be about £120 and take 2 weeks, so that wasn't an option ... I had a think
and thought that i couldn't make the situation any worse, so I decided to have a go at straightening it. I have an old O2 cylinder in the garage that was just the right size, so I jammed it into the pipe and pushed out the worst of the dent, then took to it with a rubber mallet and f*ck me, it started to get straight again! It took about an hour of careful tapping, and finishing with a panel beating hammer, but I got that puppy looking presentable again... just the tiniest of creases visible and a scratch on the bottom of the pipe... Anyway, Luc came to pick the bike up on Friday, I 'fessed up about the crack and gave him the spare wheel and a pair of SuperCorsa Pros as a goodwill gesture - he went away happy...
But - I was surprised at how I felt seeing the bike on his trailer ... I was genuinely sad and upset to see it loaded up, and someone else's eyes and hands stroking it .. god knows what would happen if ever the Postman fondled my Mrs that way!! I thought I'd not feel so bad about it, after all, I've not ridden it seriously for almost a year now, but it was a real gut-wrenching moment for me, and it made me feel really quite indifferent to the little gem of an NS400R that I picked up recently ... Of course now I know what I should have done was turn round the NS for a quick profit, but like a tw@t I didn't ...
So - I have sinned, I throw myself at your collective feet and promise that I will get rid of the stink-wheel NS ... next year ... and buy another TRX ....
