Bikes wot I 'av 'ad!

Here's an idea to while away the hours when it's too wet to ride: make a list of bikes you've had!

My list starts with a scooter in 1969, which I bought on the Isle of Man to take me to college in Sheffield. I've had 42 bikes. My biggest comedown: I bought a new BMW R75/5 in 1974 when I got my first proper job, soon realised I couldn't afford it, sold it, and "downgraded" to an Ariel-3! There's couple of scramblers and lots of enduro bikes. I found the Honda XR200, if a little gutless, was fine for a clubman like me: light enough to haul out of a Welsh bog, and economical enough not to need a backup team for refuelling. The biggest crowd-puller was the Hesketh. I'm very happy with my TRX (had it over a year now) - but I'm toying with the idea of getting an MZ1000S. (Anyone ridden one of them?)

You must be real clever to remember wot you had, I must be getting old as I cannot remember all of mine
My first was a 1955 James 150 I still have the rec from when I purchased it
since moving to Australia 38 years ago I have had heaps many the same as you a 650 TRITON I built a BMW R75/5 plus arount 30 since being here
When I lived in England I used to be a road race sidecar passenger & passengered for the now chief of Hesketh small world eh!!
I have not long had my TRX I have fitted new big ends etc it was registered/ taxed a couple of weeks ago I did a 500klm ride tody drained the oil cut the filter up and there were no metal bits or anything so all must be good
if we ever get a cold few days I will try & write down the bikes I have owned
