About a dozen different bikes in there somewhere.

Happy to say I now have a proper bike,a blue '96 TRX.

I do too...really quite nice - not too sure about the front fairing from the front, but from the side it suits very nicely :D

Yep ... me too :)
(to get a " :D " you need to fit a long, tapering, curving, up-swept megaphone exhaust tho')

Gives me an idea if the TRX ever goes to heaven.

Well I can tell you what you will need...... :D

1.Aprilia RS250 (1994) Fairing and Headlight with cut down side panels.

2.Aprilia RS125 rear seat fairing

3.Suzuki GSXR600 rear light and rear sets.

4.TDM mk2 seat shaved and re-profiled

5.Yamaha Diversion 600 tank,cut and shortened 40mm

6.Yamaha FZR600 front wheel and discs.

7.Racetech clip ons.

8.Micron 2 into 1 pipes and shortened can.

9.Hagon shock.

10.Gas flowed head.

11.Kent Cams.

12.TRX pistons

13.Raised compression (thinner head gasket)

14.FCR41's (fitted later from a set of 4 bought from some guy in Sweden)

15.FZR1000 forks (fitted later)

16.FZR1000 swing arm (fitted later) with shock mount cut from the bottom of the arm and re-positioned on top. This was a tricky welding job which I had a bike shop do.

I have to admit that the exhaust was loud and didn't last too long before being, literally, blown to bits. But it was good fun round Cadwell while it lasted. :D

yes, quite nice.. Not convinced about the headlights tho, but other wise, VERY nice.. Im a huge fan of the tail section, very clean, with matched underslung exhaust. Huge fan of that.

i think the base is a mk1(91-93) frame and engine, later model forks & yokes?

how are you finding the TRX compares?
assume you are liking the engine/exhaust noise a bit better ;)

Well the older engine used to feel much smoother and easier to rev,but the gearing was also much lower in 1st and 2nd as well as the different crank of course.

My current 'Rex makes a sound to die for when coming out of roundabouts and just winding it on.

In the process of upgrading the suspension with an Ohlins rear after destroying the rear tyre on a recent track day.The front will soon follow (currently Thundercat forks) with Ohlins springs. Then R1 complete front braking system and only when that little lot is done will I turn my attention to the engine, all should be ready for the new year. :D
