after riding my xjr1300 sp i think my trx will have to go i just wont use it might try to sell complete or think taking fcrs off and selling them seperate any ideas what its worth complete with r1 front end, digital dash, fcr41s, full akrapovic, brand new tyres less than 16miles or should i break it

I hate seeing prefectly good bikes (of any make) broken for bits

But, I have to say you will probably make more money that way.

I don't see your complete bike going for any more than £1400 and the FCRs and Akra alone should easily see you over half of that. Add another £300 for the front end and you only need to make £400 from the other bits and the engine could make that on it's own.

What about putting back to stock and selling the trick bits?

yes my thoughts exactly if you have the stock parts to place back in place...And I've found you always get more money for a stock bike as such also if you can get it back that way...

edited to add- If you do sell it, do what the other two have said and put it back to standard first and sell off the nice bits. You should get £1200 for a nice standard bike, add on another £350 each for the FCRs and Akra, £250-£300 for the front end and you're looking at nearly doubling what you'll make from selling the standard bike. And, as I say, you've got a buyer here for the Akra if you do break it

that was the sentimental side of me i love it but i like a change and the xjr is good would be a waste sat sorned in my shed i dont have the stock bits apart from carbs and airbox

Avoiding sentiment for a moment, what is is that would make one keep the TRX rather than the XJR1300? Well, the engineers' mantra goes: "add lightness and simplicate!". The TRX is lighter; and it's an unusual 270-degree parallel-twin, not a standard UJM (Universal Japanese Motorbike). The TRX has less power, but arguably it has enough; and superbikes can yield diminishing returns, being thirsty for fuel and hungry for tyres and chains.

If you are carrying a pillion passenger, fair enough, go for cubes; but for riding solo, surely the TRX is the nicer bike? And even if you feel the TRX's 80bhp makes it a bit underpowered, there is a real skill in making the most of that power, as well as joy in having a throttle that you can keep fully open for more than a split-second!

Much as I love my TRX, I would consider changing it for an MZ Skorpion Replica. The MZ's single-cylinder 5-valve Yamaha engine is tuned to give 60bhp, it is very light and nimble, and it has superb suspension and unbelievable brakes. I reckon an MZ Skorpion Replica could keep up with almost anything on real roads. I missed a mint one on eBay recently; I just couldn't afford the start price of £4,500!
