carb inlet length

hi people, was just having some thoughts about inlet trumpets, would having long ones improve low end power. i have stock carbs with pod filters, but the stock airbox has long rubber inlets. and yes i did try to fit the filters over the stock trumpets........to big.

Cost me just over $20 aust for a couple of sheets of air filter foam. I used one sheet to make up a similar design to a ramair twin filter sock for my FCR's running the bellmouths so you could prob experiment with something similar using the ones out of the airbox. I know killerwhale found with his FCR's and the difference between the std Blue bellmouths and the shorter red ones was the red ones reved a little harder at the top end pushing the taco just that little bit further a little bit easier(approx 1000rpm)

Hi guys,

A previous owner of my TRX I ride with, had a yellow SC1000 (was in rapid bikes mag). He since sold the bike, but this and a power commander was on the to-do list.
I hope their approach motivates you to get on the dyno with a couple sets and go through the shortening tests til you find the best balance.
