I am feeling a fair bit of vibration through the right hand handlebar to the extent that my hard is going to sleep. Bike seems to be running as per usual. No significant vibration on the lhs. Really noticeable at 3000 rpm. I can feel vibration through the frame on the RHS. I am yet to pull the tank off and look for anything obvious such as a vacuum hose. It has only been doing it for about one month. Any initial suggestions?

Check all engine mounting points for any loose bolts,also check the fuel tank fixings at the headstock.
It`s possibly that your handlebar clamp on the right side has worked loose too although that`s less likely than those I`ve already mentioned.
Other than that,it`s a process of elimination really.

sadly more attention to the keys or more vigilence with wearing glasses. I will check the obvious on the weekend. Did I tell you it is 29 degrees and brilliant at the moment, pity about all that snow and shite elewhere

Make sure your bar end weight hasn't fallen out!

a little more research done ,nothing loose , nothing worn that I can see. No issues with the handlebar that I can find. Might check the carby balance. Is this something that has to be done occasionally with the TRX? The bike was serviced 10,000km ago and ran fine for the next 6000. i assumed they would have checked the carby's at that time but perhaps I was being overly optimistic. Defintely engine related and not drive train.

suggestions gratefully received as i cannot stay on it for longer than about 30 minutes.

How new or old are your chain and sprockets?

have you checked engine mounts? That's where I'd be looking to start with

And then it could be wheel bearings, head bearings, worn tyre, unbalanced wheel, chain and sporckets (as said above).

I will have another look at all mounting bolts. My manual has one set which are beneath a blanking cap, soI know I have not checked those ones. Are there any rubber bushes used to mount the engine?

steering, wheels etc are not the issue, it is engine related. - how are you so sure? clip ons and bar end weights secure?

Engine hunting can be due to a number of reasons including what you have listed above. I'm struggling to understand how this would cause vibration to only one bar though

I will get vigorous with it again on the weekend and try to check everything again. I agree the logic suggests that a rough running engine should not be felt through the right hand side only, but I am getting desperate and clutching at straws. I had the plugs out last week and should have done a compression test, to be sure , to be sure. Maybe next time and I will check the carby balance.
Found a reasonable amount of slop in the throttle. I packed it with a bit of insulation tape, which took the movement away but did not remove the problem. Note that the vibration is quite subtle, except around 3000 rpm where it is very noticable.

3000 rpm! It will vibrate through the bars at that engine speed due to the inherrant vibrations from the engine, ideally keep it above 3500 revs and you may well find no vibes!!
They all do that!

Resonant frequency everything has it,,, The old triumph use to buzz really well at around 4 grand and the girls loved it and the harmonics to it...would give em a good shake at two grand and loose bolts at nuts and bolts at eight grand
