Hi folks, Thought I might take the opertunity to introduce myself and ask a q athe same time,
Had the bike for about 4yrs now, just given it (almost finished )a bit of a revamp Its a bit of a rat rex at the mo, I bought it off a mate for £150.00 I couln't refuse, I didnt even want a bike at the time, but at £150 what are you gonna do! It needed a few bits, tyres, front wheel, disc and some general fettling so got some bits from ebay put up with the warped disc for a while as it only pulsed really hard if you were going slow! About a year later I got some discs on a front wheel from ebay and put the whole lot on, along with a caliper spruce up ....crap brakes.... several hours /attempts to bleed brakes, I thought Id fd up the rebuild of calipers and bought some blue spots, then on closer examination found one of the new (to me)discs flexed when i put the brake on, haul off the old good disc (always hoard spare bits!) all 18 bolts off no probs none shearing! miricals do happen! wwooooo hooooo a brake that feels as though it might actually stop in less time than a supertanker!
Took off the Ducati 748 fairing and headlight unit and put on a pair of twin chromies along with a pair of mx style bars and some risers, bars rise about 80mm and the riser about the same
not had it out on the road yet in this guise but I think it will suit me a lot better as i prefer the more upright position,
Anyway Insurance, who does a good deal and how much should i be paying? bike garaged, 38 yrs old, home owner, no ncb, held licence for about 10 yrs, gsoh mostly wear blue boxer shorts,
Answers on a postcard to....
might get some photos of bike up if i can be arsed/massive response to my post and i feel obliged
