Just trying to get some feedback regarding my bike. I'm coming to the conclusion it's going to be easier selling my TRX as a standard bike. The question is, what would you guys deem to be a fair price for the following ( collective sale not individual items ) :

Set of carbon race cans with custom link pipes and all fittings
Belly Pan
Rear Hugger
Stainless Rad cover


Also, if you turned up to view a TRX, would the sound of the exhaust make an impact on your decision to buy ?


I'm about to list the bike on ebay classifieds ( something new to me ) and would appreciate any advice regarding test rides ( cash up front ?, insurance etc ) and what info you would look for when buying a bike using this source.

Anything around 100 to 150 quid for the race cans, hugger around 50 to 60 quid, bellypan around the same and the rad guard maybe 20 quid or so.
Stock TRX? Varies depending on mileage and condition, service history etc but 12 to 1500 quid would be about right.

That should do nicely, I have it up at £1595 with everything. So in stock for a nice 2002 reg with 17k at around £1400 -£1500 should be about spot on

All the stuff that applies to selling a bike privately applies to ebay too, like you said they'll need to give you the full asking price first, have insurance and a bike licence. Good luck with the sale

I've a gut feeling I'm going to regret using eBay, but needs must. Over the past 30 odd years I've sold many a bike through MCN ( early days ), weekly free ads & bike trader. I must be honest and say every one went smooth. I've yet to get the tyre kicker test pilot, and all left the full asking price in cash before the test ride.

Somehow I think that's all going to change and eBay is going to present me with the ultimate wally

I tried selling an FZR400 a while ago on ebay, in an auction. The amount of questions I got asking if I'd swap it for this piece of knackered old tat plus a 10p mix-up, or that piece of obviously-stolen electronic gubbins that I have no use for is beyond belief. Really. Do I look like I want a modified Saxo or a spanky new laptop (security tag still attached)?

I was thinking about buying a garden water feature ?

Well, I do have a brand new leather jacket to sell next. So someone on ebay may offer me a set of small Russian doll's that double's up has a water feature

I bought my Rex on E Bay 3 1/2 years ago, best £1500 I ever spent, It was a nice clean bike with plenty of sensible mods and only 24000 miles.
