Last week, beautiful sunny weekday, my wife says lets go for a ride...she has been on the back of the the TRX a few times, but only for short 30 min rides. We ride from our home in Copacabana ( near Gosford NSW ) out to Wollumbi ( the home of the famous Dr Jurds Jungle Juice )...about a 90 min ride, some through town but mostly nice winding countryside. We enjoy a couple of beers and lunch at the Wollumbi pub and stay abouyt 90 mins. We then get back on the TRX and have a great ride home. I put a sheepskin on the pillion seat to try and maximise my wife`s comfort. Her comments are when we get home are " I must really love you because that is the most f..... uncomfortable pillion seat I have ever been on and my bum is f.....hurtin big time". Just wondering how other members partners have coped with longer pillion rides. My wife is only 50 kg and 5 feet 5 inches tall, she loves going pillion but I think that may have been her last on the rex.

90 minutes? PAH, that`s nowt, try almost 400 miles with only fuel stops lasting 10 mins max, so normally well over 5 HRS?
My other half does it annually from Edinburgh to Stratford-Upon-Avon, she nearly always cries, I get shouted at, my head gets battered but within half an hour of our arrival it`s all forgotten about until it`s time to do the return journey.
I have a good quality gel pad that get`s fitted but she`s 5` 6" and around 140lbs according to which scales she uses.
Serves her right for wanting to come with me, she could stay at home while I party like a MF!

What a load of BS, what you got trapped on a round-about for 5 Hrs? Mate you Poms tell the biggest stories, 5 Hrs in any direction in the UK and you're swimming for the last Hr April the 1st was weeks ago, 400 miles, don't make me laught

Ahem, ok, ok, so we have a tiny nation in relation to your `mostly` desert rock. But YES it`s true, sometimes I`ll drive for 12 hours or more with a couple of piss and fuel / food breaks when on my tours visiting friends and family.
It is a fact though, that in the UK nowhere is further than around 70 miles from the sea in at least one direction.
Many of our roads don`t allow high speeds due to traffic and conditions, it eats into journey times.

Arh the truth comes out, you were stuck in a traffic jam for 4 1/2 Hrs And as for our desert rock, we like to call it home or God's country

Having driven in both countries ... the traffic in the UK is unbelievable compared to Oz, it takes soooo much longer to get anywhere here! I was driving on the Sunshine Coast once and was amazed at how my Oz mates thought the ten car wait for a junction was "awful traffic"

Mini-me used to fit OK on the TRX when she was about 6 ... anyone over 4'6" is gonna find it uncomfortable. Personally I hate going pillion anyway (and hate having a pillion when I'm riding) ... if your other half complains, tell her to get her own bike

Stuff going pillion! The last time I rode pillion was because I had to, a week before we went to collect my TRX It was horrible, I hate the feeling of not being in control. I won't carry pillions either- why make the back of your bike 60kg heavier?

I quite like it actually, especially on my Skorpion, gives plenty of plastic rocket riders a fright if it`s a good bit of twisty stuff.
Plus Dawn`s really a natural and rarely complains no matter how much I`m pushing on. It`s the TRX that upsets her.

The riders seat is uncomfortable enough, sod the pillion seat for a laugh.

Now again, I disagree, I find the riders seat quite comfy, must be all the old British and Italian stuff I`ve had over the years spoiling me. Either that or 40 years plus on bike seats have hardened me ass!
I cycle too so maybe that toughens it up?

Had my seats recovered, but I dont find the seat too uncomfortable. Had worse and survived! I dont have and so don't carry pillions.

Spend a few years on super moto's & converted enduro bikes - makes a TRX feel like an armchair!

I might just have a bony arse I suppose but it only takes maybe a half hour to an hour before the pain kicks in. I tend to wear cycling shorts on long trips now!

I've thought for ages that cutting off the section that tapers in would probably help.
